L Peat O’Neil teaches food writing and coaches people who are writing or researching a family food memoir.  O’Neil’s work has been published in the Washington Post, National Geographic News online, Gastronomica, Travel+Leisure and dozens of other newspapers and magazines.

Peat O’Neil’s food writing class venues include: The Writer’s Center, L’Academie de Cuisine, UCLA-Extension online, the Osher Institute in Los Angeles, as well as the Smithsonian Resident Associates.

Currently, she is leading culinary and travel writing workshops for the Writer’s Center  in Annapolis, Md. and at the Hill Center on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC.
